Interaction behavior for multiple embedded cracks subjected to bending load in creep regimes

Abstract Multiple cracks growing from pre-existing defects during the manufacturing/installation process or small initiated are primary concerns in evaluating structural integrity. In this study, interaction behavior for coplanar multiple embedded subjected to bending load creep regimes was studied using numerical simulation approach. Influences of crack configurations (crack shape, depth, and distance) properties on factor C* distribution along were evaluated based three-dimensional finite element solutions. Due among cracks, asymmetric front values pronounced as approached each other. Moreover, distance, exponent significantly affected shape had limited influence. However, maximum did not coincide with occurring front. The determined by average employed represent intensity effect growth behavior. Finally, an empirical relation proposed estimating factors cracks.
